Week 3 Patri Feher- Aly Corrigan
Patri Feher, an artist who forever 30 years works making traditional floral scannography. Feher is a self taught photo artist and even started off as an amateur flower gardener. She started off her career in the early 1990' when digital printmaking was being explored; using analog video frames as the source. She also wrote her own book entitled "Adventures in Blueprinting", a manual of her own design explaining her thought process and how-to-s. Although she has not on many awards, nor does her work get displayed as much, in 1987 she was chosen by the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City representing photographic designs she's made on clothes. She is now included in their permanent design lab to this day in their huge collection. To this day her designs are taught and used in digital art making and in digitized botanical scannography.
Bismuth
This picture was created with Isabella Amorine's bismuth which I dragged down the scan line. By bringing it out more I made it appear thinner and then bringing it back down t the surface helped a sense of weight.
For this one I used the same technique as before only this time sweeping it left and right creating somewhat of a static TV look.
Teletie
This piece was created using a teletie I had on my wrist, and in order to make it into this shape I just stretched it out over and over against the scanning line.
I placed my teletie in the corner and tried moving it along with the bismuth pieces but only the moving bismuth showed. I held the gems by my fingertips and moved them along the scanning line to make them warped.
I used the same technique as the bismuth except I used it with my teletie instead. This one kind of looks like a person to me.
Glasses Case
The glasses case seen here is the one I se every day in my bag and to create this piece I simply rolled it over and over until it's pattern continued down the center.
Picks
For this image I created I used one of my red picks and traced it along the line fo a more wavy effect. If I had gone more slowly an turned it I could've added the detail of the grainy wave from the pick.
I performed the same technique as the one above only I added in a blue pick to heighten the color. I also merged them together trying to make purple and instead got them switched.
This picture had the same technique as the red and blue one, except I used red and white picks and gave a smiley face.
For this image I created, I used all of my picks and moved them across the line each time to make it seem like there were many more. I gave it a free falling sort of effect and nearly slammed my fingers trying to get this.
This image I created the picks falling out of my holder, also in a free fall type of form. And if you look really closely, my fingers kind of made a demon face towards the middle haha.
Wallet
I performed the same technique as the one above only this time I tried to distort the bottom half of the text rather than the top.
