Week 2_Research_Ansley Foil

    The artist I have chosen to right a short entry about is Andrew Rae. The work that stood out most to me that he made is named "Phone Buddies". The artist takes photographs then draws over them. This exact work is a picture of a man on his phone with a monster coming out of the phone. The monster is the part of the work that is drawn. With technology taking over and so many people being consumed in their phones, Rae often uses this idea of technology with crazy creatures coming out of it. It is his way of showing that technology isn't always good and can be harmful. He's also said before that "The screen is a portal where the digital world and real world meet". I think this image is very interesting because the only part of the picture that isn't real is the monster coming out of the phone. The monster is fake, just like lots of things people see, hear, and read on the internet.
