Project 7&8_Taylor Clarke
Memory and Fantasy:
At the start, I began by going using the Filters option and rendered Clouds option to make the black and white background layer. I then used the Liquify filter effect to twirl around, and essentially liquify the background to my liking. Once that was done, I made use of the gradient to add color to the layer and chose colors that would give it a psychedelic feel. I did this by going to the Layers option > New Adjustment Layer > Gradient Map, and made sure to create a clipping mask so that only the layer below it would be effected. I then hid those layers, created a new one, and then made a symmetric square using the rectangle tool and placed it at an angle. I then added gradient using the same colors from the background and made it a diamond gradient. The square was then split with the Marquee tool and the Layer via Cut option to make the new cut on its own layer; then it the edges were warped with the Warp Transformation option. Opening a new file, I brought in an image of an eye from the internet (rights-free) and wanted to make it into a 3D-dimensional sphere, so I turned it into a Mesh Layer > Mesh Preset > Sphere. I brought the new image into the Photoshop file and placed them where I wanted the square to be. I opened yet another file with yet another picture and then edited it with the Liquify tool so that would seem like the background was dripping out of the eyes. I edited another picture by warping a black rectangle to look like it was dripping on the head and added both into the file. I made some minor edits, inverted some things, used some Blending options, and then finally placed a noise filter above them all. Voila!
Started a regular gradient background. Then added in some trees with my custom brush. Made a new smart layer, filled it with black, added a noise filter, and gaussian blur to make the stars. I made an aurora in with use of the brush tool and a lot of layer options. I added a moon in the center of the file and gave it an outer glow with the blending options. Once that was done, I made another custom brush but with a dragon, and then placed that in the file as well. After that, I added in two reaching hands to give the file more of a dreamlike feel and changed its blending option make it emulate the color of the aurora as well.
