    My Scanography Pieces:

For my first scanography group I focused on 5 Gum. I just really enjoy 5 Gum and chew it constantly. I arranged the gum pieces in a way to showcase movement. The first scanograph is supposed to make it appear as if the gum is flying out of the pack and into spiral shape. The second scanograph shows the pieces changing from open to closed wrappers. The third shows a more jagged type of movement, and the fourth sonograph shows the process of balling up a used gum wrapper.

My second scanography group focuses on writing utensils. I arranged theses pens, highlighters, pencils, etc. in fun and interesting ways. There really wasn't much thought behind it.

My last scanography group focuses on common items that I use on a regular basis. This includes sunglasses, earbuds, lip gloss, etc. I arranged the items in fun ways. The first scanograph shows the items weaving in and out of my earbuds. The second shows them set up in a pyramid style. In the third scanograph I chose to change the perceptive of the items by placing them upright, and in the fourth scanograph I arranged the items to look like a face.

My Scanography Artist Research:

Kate Cosgrove's scanography consists of random items she has found in the woods outside her home. Items such as leaves, bones, feathers, lost keys, snakeskins, dead insects, etc. She enjoyed scavenging these lost things and would create dioramas of them, yet she felt her dioramas couldn't display these finds on a larger scale. This inspired her to turn to scanography. Cosgrove claims that scanning allowed her too, "remember/display these ephemeral objects beyond physical display." Her scans are illustrative stories revolved around rebirth, death, and dreams.
