Week 3_Project 2_Jordan

Richard Dawson is one of many illustrative scanography artists, but he mostly uses crushed objects, like flowers, and illustrations against a solid color background. Hercilia Lopes is another illustrative scanography artist, she uses jewels, ornaments, silks, veils, metals, and women's clothing to invoke a deeper context. Her work has different splashes of color so no project is only consisting of one color. Francesco Gioia is an abstract artist who would scan shadows or even no object at all and messes around with them which reveals latent colors. Scanography is different from print making, photography or even sculpting because you aren't just capturing an image with a camera but you're scanning the object and (if you wish)digitally altering said scan. It does hold some similarities to sculpting because like sculpting, you are in fact gathering a variety of objects for a project.
