  I had no idea what I was doing for this page. I was very bored in two seconds, and my brain naturally went to bugs. I drew a few little bugs and then moved on to crabs. I couldn’t get the crab shape right, so I drew three trying to make the perfect crab. I scribbled a random line smack in the center of the page and tried to turn it into flowing fabric, but I didn’t know how so I quit that drawing to make a tiny fluffy bird. I then drew the same bird sitting down. 

The lack of any references did not help my artistic process, in fact I think it muddled it a lot. During my exercise, I completely forgot what a crab was supposed to look like, and I ended up with a terrible, non-crab interpretation of a crab. It was as if someone tried to describe a crab to me after seeing it once at night. On the bright side, I wasn’t distracted by much at all.
