Dale Hoopingarner is a digital artist who uses photo scanner to capture the beauty of nature. He arranges fresh flowers and leaves face down on a photo scanner, in a darkened room, and captures their beauty. The photo is then retouched on a computer to remove only the stray pollen or dust. this is done carefully, in order to not alter the original arrangement. The editing process takes anywhere between 10 to 20 hours to complete. Hoopingarner gained his love for nature as a young boy scout. As an adult he likes gardening and kayaking. His goal as a digital artist, with a focus in scanography, is to preserve the transient beauty of flowers.

Below are some images from my own scans.
