Scanography is a digital art form consisting of scanning objects and pictures on a flatbed scanner. One artists who's work I was drawn too is Ronis Furquim, he is from and still lives in Brazil. He currently works on a scientific publishing company but before that studied electrical engineering, psychology, and computer programing. A quote from Ronis states "I always look around me... searching for something that can be scanned", I feel this quote describes his way of creating these scans perfectly. Most of his scans are of ordinary objects such as seashells, cd's, coral, and flowers which helixes to use to create images, that don't always tell a story but intrigues the mind and they are quite beautiful. He's always been interested in art and different ways of creating images using drawing, painting, and photography. In 2005 he lost his camera however so he decided to try out scanning images and uses photographic techniques to create his one of a kind images.
