Project5&6_AmberGulbin
I forgot to take many screenshots for this one, but in the first screen shot I used the quick selection tool to cutout the picture of the lily and lily pads. I then copied and pasted that onto my main picture. I forgot to take screenshots of the background process, but I took different cropped pieces of pictures of the sky and clouds I took and smudged them together too look like water underneath the lily and lily pads. I also gave the lily and lily pads a drop shadow and changed the saturation.
I also forgot screenshots for this one but I took a picture of a light pole I took and used the quick selection tool again to cutout different parts of it. I took a picture of the sky and another light pole and placed it underneath the first layer to make it look like another world inside of it. I added more drop shadows and increased the brightness and saturation of the sky photo. I then used the brush tool and took a light yellow color and outlined the objects in the photo to really make it look like a different world. It's hard to see but I also took the blur tool and used it in the bottom right side of the sky photo to match up with the light pole being unfocused/blurred from when I took it originally.
I printed out the photoshop pieces that I created and put them together as a collage on a bigger piece of paper. I then cut out small flowers and leaves from my other photos I took and added them as well.
Here is my finished piece because I forgot to take pictures of the progress of the rest of the background. I took an even bigger piece of paper and cut out strips of blank white paper and strips of not very color pictures that I took outside. I took the strips and weave the together at the top and bottom of the page. On the sides I printed out more photos that I took because I liked how they looked with the background and I left them uncut. I then taped my initial collage on top of it.
A Trip to Vibrancy, Amber Gulbin
I first went outside and took photos of things that were interesting to me. Afterwards I uploaded some of them to photoshop and played with them a little and put some together. I made sure to make the colors pretty vibrant. I used the drawing tool to add yellow lines and the quick select tool to add and erase some parts that I wanted to select. I printed out the three collages that I had made in photoshop and I arranged them together on a piece of paper. I also cut out small flowers and leaves from the other photos I took and added them on top of my collage. I got a bigger piece of paper and printed and cut out strips of blank paper and strips of photos that I took that weren't very colorful. I colored the blank strips with colored pencils and weaved them together. I then printed out the brick and rock photos and placed them on the sides s the background wouldn't be too chaotic. I finally taped my first collage to the middle of the page.
My idea for this piece was to make it look like there were other worlds inside of the photos that I took. For the lilypads on the left I wanted it to look like there was a sort of portal as the water. For the middle photo I wanted it to look like there were other worlds inside the stones on the statue. And finally for my last picture on the right I wanted it to look like there was another world inside of the light pole.
