WEEK5_PROJECT4_SETH PRIOR

This is my 3rd work I've produced from photoshop. I first grabbed an image of a nuclear explosion and used it as the background. After doing that I found an image of a window and tried using the magic wand tool to get rid of most of the white in the image but ended up having to use the magnetic lasso. Both tools didn't work as well as I wanted them to so I had to go back in with an eraser and get rid of little bits and pieces. I drew a line in black along the bottom the window in a separate layer and used gaussian blur to give a drop shadow to the window over the image of the concrete wall I found. I couldn't find any good images of hands doing a thumbs up from a first person perspective so I took an picture of my own thumb and used the magnetic lasso to get rid of the background. I put it onto the image and went back in with an eraser to again get little bits left over off. After I had everything I wanted on the image I used the motion blur filter multiple times in order to get the effect of shaking from the blast I was looking for. Once I had that I drew a line of orange around the perimeter of my arm and hand on a separate layer and again used gaussian blur to give a brightness effect as if the light was trying to swallow my hand.

This was my second image I made in photoshop and it is a lot different than the previous one. I did not expect to come out with the final product I did but I will walk you through the process of how I did get there. First I started off choosing a broken glass background, I then darkened it and blurred it to not distract from what I wanted to do with the center image. After I had the background I wanted I got a mirror frame image, cut it out and put it onto a new layer. I then found an image of a yelling man and put him on a separate layer in between the frame and background. I outlined the man with the drawing tool and then deleted the image I had before and was left with the outline I made. I then messed around with different gradients using the gradient tool and eventually made a mistake and did the gradient on the wrong level. This gave me the background I have in the final image. After I made this accidental art piece I  decided I wanted it to be more pronounced and so I put a gradient on a different layer above the background and then erased everything that wasn't hidden by the frame and I took a little bit more out from the inside of the frame. After I had it around the backside of the frame I used the gaussian blur tool to make it look like it was glowing out the backside of the art piece.

I had no idea what image to create, I've always done weird images like these since 9th grade but it's always been on paint.net. Making the adjustment to photoshop will be hard but well worth it. I first grabbed some images of kong and Godzilla, I then found the pyramid picture, a picture of earth and a space background to put them on. I resized the earth and then put the pyramid on top, rotating it and erasing any bits that went outside the sphere. After that I got my kong picture and pasted him on top of the pyramid and the same thing with Godzilla and his UFO. I found an explosion png and then extended his blast beam. I put some light behind earth and some wind trails on Godzillas UFO with the paint tool and then made the layers more opaque. At the end I tried to frame the image with the paint tools in the right and left corners. The hat and text stuff was just random stuff. In my opinion the text tool is far too complicated.
