Design 1

For the first screenshot, I got a picture of a dome, and a picture of a snake. I took a part of the snake, and copied it, so it looked like it was wrapping around the pillar. Every part that is wrapping came from the exact same part of the original image. I also got a different picture of the same snake in order to have him peek out from behind the dome.

For the second screenshot I used the layer style options to change the snake from blue to a gradient of yellow and red. I used the same thing to turn the dome orange. I also added a small pattern to the snake with the same method. I added a background as well. I also made the snake kind of disintegrate a little bit by using the blending options tool.

I added some dragons flying in the background, and changed them to the same gradient as the snake.

I did a lot here. I added some shading and highlights to everything to make it look more natural. I also added a hand reaching up from the horizon, and changed its color with the layer style options. I made it disintegrate a little bit too. I added a crack on the bigger dome. I made the ocean below have more of a ripple effect while also making it darker. I added smiles and eyes everywhere too to make it creepy. I also erased part of the dome, so you could see the disintegration of the snake better.

For the final product, I just added a couple touchups with lighting and cropping.

The overall design for this was inspired by a dream I had in 6th grade where everyone was in a dome, and demons invaded. The main demon was a massive serpent looking thing, but since there were no pictures that looked like it, I improvised and just made a big snake. I added dragons in the background because there were smaller reptilian demons too. The eyes and mouths are from a completely separate dream I have had where a ton of eyes and mouths appeared around me in a black void. I needed to add more, so I added them here. I added the arm in the back to show an even bigger threat than the snake. I added the eyes and mouths on it to make it look like it was the thing that caused everything. My piece is mainly just trying to tell a story, so there isn't much of a meaning to it. I just really like this dream. it was cool.

Design 2

For this I simply drew a simple design in the corner then copy pasted it 4 times.

I just added colors in the background then gaussian blurred them.

I added a spiral in the background to make it more hypnotic

I added a polar coordinates distortion to make it more radial, and so it would look more like it was peering into a tunnel

I added even more colors and used the ripple distortion on them

I added more colors, and used the wave distortion on it.

This design was inspired by a time where I was going into a lucid dream. I never actually got into the lucid part because my alarm went off, but I remember feeling as if I was awake while going down a tunnel that looked like this. There isn't much extra thought to this one. I just made what I remembered.
